Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt were formed in June 2013 when they both met in Valencia and since then have done over 300 concerts, have six self-published albums and are featured in two compilations, their music is also frequently programmed on several radio stations and have been interviewed by various Spanish and international media.
Matt came from spending 7 years in London making music with his trio and with Los Jailbreakers and there he studied music at CityLit College in Covent Garden. Previously he had spent 6 years in the United States, where he learned from the original sources during her stays in Chicago and USA. Sara has a degree in dramatic art and began her musical steps in Formentera, along with her mentor Erik Doornweerd.
Sara and Matt are declared lovers of the classic sounds of the 30s, 40s and 50s and collaborate with them several dynamic and versatile musicians, with solid careers in American roots music such as Blues, Country and Rock n Roll. They write their own material that they combine in their shows with covers of artists like Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Howlin Wolf, Bob Dylan, Wanda Jackson, Ida Cox, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Lou Ann Barton or Neil Young, to mention a few.
The musicians who have accompanied Sara and Matt in their live performances and recordings as rhythm section, either with electric bass or double bass, are respected and known in the vibrant Valencian music scene, members at one time or another of bands such as Los Incorregibles, Rock n Bordes, Renegados, Blackmailers, The Danny Boy Blues Band or Racers Trio. They currently act as The Sara Gee & Ramblin Matt Band, with the great Pepe "Pelos" Calle on electric bass, a great musician who has brought his groove, solid and harmonic to the band and Terry Hayes on drums.
