The International Blues Festival from Cerdanyola (FIBC) started in 1988 as a reivindication of the musical movement, and also with the intention of, after some editions, positioning Cerdanyola del Valles as an important cultural city.
The first edition it was with only one concert outside the city's Ateneu, after that, the festival has been growing up with editions longer than 10 days, filling the streets and the city's concert halls with quality music.
In all its trajectory many great artists of this afro-american music style, have been performing in the festival, both national, and international.
The FIBC has been one of the firsts festivals promouting the blues with a multidiciplinary side: apart from concerts the festival includes conferences, master classes, exhibitions, talks...
One of the most sucssesful activities during all the years it has been the Barbacue and Blues, a whole day of open-air music. In the last edition we had to reconvert the event into the Big Night for Blues, with the same format but during the evening hours, where the audience can see the headliners of the festival.

After organizing a big concert for celebrate the 5th aniversary of the radio, they decided to organize a blues festival, to make Cerdanyola different than the rest of the territory.
And that is how the first Blues Festival from Cerdanyola started: with a huge ilusion and ideas. What in the first moment started as an amateur idea, it became more professional.
In the second period of the festival, they tried to find new audience and more assortment of activities, where the audience enjoyed the sound of the blues, rock, soul and funky music.
During this second period, and thanks to all the work that it was done before, another bars and locals were added as a venues for the festival, creating a blues atmosphere in the city
